In 2013 Weblife founders recognized that three major conflicting trends associated with workplace Internet use were colliding together and it was only going to get worse. First, in response to growing cyber threats, organizations and most of the security industry were investing in increasingly complicated detective controls to monitor and control employee web use.
And, this first trend directly conflicted with a second trend, employees increasing demand for Internet use freedom. But it was the third trend that moved us to form Weblife, and that was the growing tsunami of privacy laws protecting employees right to privacy.
This third trend highlighted the unsustainable nature of our current security approach, and called for a new way to respond to both our cyber threats as well as our individual need for increasingly unrestricted access to the Internet.
To address employer’s reasonable need to protect their digital information while also responding to individuals reasonable demands for freedom and privacy, Weblife founded a new approach to secure, empower and simplify employee Internet use with a fully cloud based service to isolate and secure web use providing employees greater freedom and anonymity to conduct personal and high risk web browsing.
